Have you ever wondered why Queen Elizabeth and The Duke of Edinburgh have different sleeping quarters? Is this the same for all the marriages in the royal family?

The Queen of England and Duke of Edinburgh have their own separate quarters but are linked to each others bed room, this are as a result of the Queens  duties.

According to to Ellen Wood "The Queen and the Duke have separate but adjoining bedrooms. Their dressing rooms are designed so they can enter/exit each other's bedrooms privately.

There are many possible reasons for this, not the least of which is that Her Majesty is often the last person to go to bed. She's known to frequently work past midnight if engagements kept her from finishing her normal daily work.

Also Christine Smith added that "They have different schedules, Plus, the Queen is awakened with important news in the night, which the Duke feels can wait. If one takes ill, the other one won’t be susceptible to it. Separate beds help them rest better. Their room are connected though.

Though the prince Philip is late and the queen is old and still discharging her duty, as royal family she would be relieved of her duties when she dies

Most Royal family the husband and wife have separate chambers and a room connecting to each others bedroom

Even in among typical Traditional Families the women tend to have a separate family that are connected to the husband chamber
